Official opening of our Golden Bench and Golden Tree
To mark our 50th anniversary, Carlon Ferguson, who is a former pupil and now a local businessman, donated a bench and tree for our school field. On a sunny June today, Carlon came to officially 'open' the tree and bench which we hope will benefit future generations of Someries Juniors pupils!
Visit from Rachel Hopkins MP
In assembly on 28 November, School Council hosted a visit from Rachel Hopkins, our local MP.
The councillors asked Rachel a range of prepared questions about life and work as a constituency MP. It was interesting to find out what MPs do, how they work and why Rachel wanted to become an MP. Pupils from all the classes had the opportunity to ask questions and it seemed that the environment - both local and global - was high on their agenda. They asked about a couple of problem spots in the local area and Miss Hopkins said she would look into these matters. The head girl and head boy then gave Miss Hopkins a tour of the school so that she could see the children in action
