How we use Pupil Premium funding to improve outcomes for pupils

The Pupil Premium has been allocated to Someries Junior School based on the number of pupils on roll that are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years. Each of these pupils attracts £1320. As a school, we have the freedom to spend the Pupil Premium funding, which is additional to the main school budget, in a way that we think will best support the raising of attainment for our most vulnerable pupils.

Objectives in Spending Pupil Premium

  • To widen pupils experiences to support learning, in particular reading, writing and maths.
  • To enrich wider opportunities that enable pupils to develop their confidence and skills across the curriculum.
  • To enhance and widen provision to improve progress across the core subjects, with a particular focus on reading.
